One Last Dive before the D-Day…..

Darrell on March 28th, 2008

Recieved our tax refund check and we just got back from a week’s vacation in Florida…..was able to clear our minds somewhat and are facing bankruptcy head on. At the moment, we are trying to configure our gameplan to receive our IRS $1500 check and then file. After all, strategic filing is the best option ;) But, how can we do that and not have to cough up the money? Easy, the $1500 is already gone and will not be here until mid-May at the earliest; both of our vehicles need repairs to the front axles. Oh well. At the moment, we are just living day to day and trying to get through. It is almost a totally surreal feeling of total numbness, but at the same time, when facing bankruptcy, the #1 goal is to get out as cheaply as possible. Additionally, my wife can possibly lose her job in the near future. The company she works for is restructuring and will most likely eliminate the more senior employees (she has been there the longest within her section). If that happens, we could not get out of debt even if we wanted to. THUS, the sudden attitude change. Two months ago, we were ready for cruise control towards becoming debt free……now we are on a head-on-collision course with the inevitable……do-dah! Oh well, it happens and currently in the US, it is happening more than ever. On top of all of this, I received a promotion at work this week lol……but the money will not be enough to realistically cover anything extra. LOL, so how is everything in your world going? Come and join us as we travel down the rabbit hole known as bankruptcy!
