Hello! My name is Darrell. I am a 39 year old hailing from Tennessee. I have been happily married to the same woman for the past 14 years. Over the years, we have managed to accumulate and keep debt……lots of debt. More debt than we should ever be carrying.

At the launch of this site (1/1/2008), our family is currently carrying approximately:

$15,900 in credit card debt; $660 in unsecured personal loan debt ($5k starting balance); $26,000 in student loans; $25,000 ($6,000 on one, $19k on the other) in car loans; $38,000 mortgage and approximately $5k in medical debts. Grand total? @ $110,560……..against an annual household income of just under $70k last year. We blow too much money, plain and simple.

This site is intended to be a check and balance to help me get out of debt. I am a visual learner, so If I can see something, I can learn it. Additionally, I am the type of person that has to constantly push myself to ensure that constant improvement is occurring. By launching this site, I will be able to efficiently track my family’s progress in eliminating our debt. Like I said, I am a visual learner and can rarely see/understand things simply by hearing. I hope that the information contained within this site will help others to become debt free. I am not in any way a financial manager or credit repair specialist. The information within the site is simply the experiences that I have with dealing with debt as my family pulls our way out of the debt hole.
